New Design users, click this link to open your Help system. Not sure if you're in New Design? If there are menu commands down the left side of the course window, you are in a New Design course. But if there are tabs at the top of the course window for Home, Resources, etc., please stay in this Help system.

Where you start depends mostly on whether you have joined an instructor's course or are working on your own.

Working on your own

Start by evaluating your skills. The MyLab can then create a list of Resource topics for My Study Plan.
Use My Study Plan to work through Resource topics and exercises that will enhance your skills. As your skills improve, the MyLab adjusts the list in My Study Plan.
Explore Resources on your own to see if there are any topics that you want to learn more about.

Working in an instructor's course

See if your instructor has created any diagnostic assignments for you. If not, you can take the diagnostics on your own. The MyLab can then create a list of topics for your personalized My Study Plan.
Use My Study Plan to work through Resource topics and exercises that will enhance your skills. As your skills improve, the MyLab adjusts the list in My Study Plan.
Check out your assignment lists and see if there are any writing assignments you need to start working on.
