Use Resources

Resources are available to all MyLab users, whether you are working on your own or in an instructor's course. My Study Plan maintains a list of your required Resources, but you can also go directly to Resources to work on required assets and any other topics or assets available to you.

Watch a video For a demo of using Resources, see the video Tour of Resources.

To navigate Resources:

  1. Do one of the following to display Resources:
  2. Click an option on the left to expand it. For example, click Grammar to list its topics.
  3. Click a topic to display its subtopics. For example, under Grammar, click Sentence Grammar.
  4. Click a subtopic, for example Clauses and Phrases.

The topic's assets are listed on the right.

Point to View Icon Key, at the top of the Resources window, to display descriptions of the asset icons.

  5. Click an asset's title to start work on it.

An asset title turns orange when the mouse pointer is on it.

Some exercises have a Need a Refresher? drop-down list with all the instruction and multimedia assets. This is particularly useful if you are not sure how to answer the question. Select an asset from the drop-down list and click the View button. The MyLab opens the asset in a separate window for you to review. Then return to the exercise window to answer the question.

  6. Click the Show Results button after answering the last question in an exercise.

The MyLab displays the results of the exercise. If this is an exercise that the MyLab can grade, it records the grade in Resources and the Topic Results Summary in the gradebook. For an exercise that the MyLab cannot grade (such as an exercise that requires a written response), it records the exercise as COMPLETE in the Gradebook.

You can redisplay the results grid by clicking the exercise's score in either Resources or the Topic Results Summary in the gradebook.
