Take your documents with you

When you switch or move from one MyLab course to another, your personal documents remain accessible, but not your assignment documents. Before you join the second course, you can export any assignment documents that you want to take with you. Exporting a document saves it to your computer.

Also use this procedure to export any assignment submissions that you want to keep after the course ends.

You cannot export an assignment document that the instructor is reviewing; you can export it before or after the instructor has reviewed it. Also, the export process does not export any files that you or the instructor attached to the assignment or personal document.

To export a document:

  1. Click the Composing tab.
  2. Select the File – Open Document command. (Where is the File menu?)
  3. Select the file you want to export.
  4. Select Open or Open a copy from the Choose an Action drop-down list.

Use Open a copy for an assignment that you have submitted to the instructor.

  5. Click the Go button.

The composing space opens the document.

  6. Select the File – Export command.
  7. Select a file format and click the Submit button.
  8. Click the Save button to save the file to your computer. (The Save and/or Open options displayed depend on your browser.)

After you join another course, you can copy and paste the contents of an exported document in the composing space. See Insert a document for more information.
