Tune up your browser

To take best advantage of the rich media content in your course, you need to confirm that your computer has the correct browser and software plug-in programs installed before you start to work.

Note: You need to repeat the steps in this topic in every browser on every computer from which you access your course. For example, if you access your course in a lab location or on a friend's computer, you need to check that the correct browser and plug-ins are installed on those machines.

To tune up your browser and plug-in software:

  1. From the Today's View page, click Tune Up Your Browser in the Getting Started area. The Pearson Browser Check window opens. Green checkmarks appear next to the browsers and browser settings that are already compatible with your course.

Alternatively, you can go to www.mylanguagelabs.com and, under Browser Tune Up in the bottom right corner, click Run the tune-up now.

  2. If you see a black exclamation mark next to the browser name or browser setting, you need to either install another version of your browser, switch to another browser, or change the browser settings. For up-to-date information about compatible browsers, operating systems, and mobile devices, see System Requirements.
  3. In the Your plug-ins list, already-installed plugins appear with an "Installed" message and a green checkmark. If a Not Installed message and a Download button appears, you need to download and install that plug-in.
  4. When all options appear with green checkmarks, close the window to return to Today's View.
