The Pearson Realize system requirements are designated to optimize and deliver the most reliable user experience. Realize is a browser-based application and accessing Realize with supported browsers when those browsers are running on non-supported operating systems will often result in an equally efficient user experience. By designating officially supported operating systems and browsers, Pearson is able to ensure an optimal user experience, and identify the ones we will support with enhancements and defect remediation. However, the supported operating systems and browsers are not exclusive and Realize will operate on other combinations of operating systems and browsers.
Realize supports Apple iPad 2/3/4. Android Tablets. Realize supports Android devices that have widths 768px or larger, running on Lollipop 5.0 x and Chrome OS devices.
Adobe® Reader® (latest version) and Microsoft® Excel or other spreadsheet software for teacher and administrator accounts. Allow outgoing HTTPS/SSL communication to pearsonrealize.com through port 443.
To access the eTexts for some products using a browser on a desktop or laptop computer, users may need to install Adobe Flash® Player. It can be downloaded here. If accessing these products on an iPad or Android tablet, users should download the eTexts for Schools app from the App Store or Google Play.
Accessible on Tablets
Realize is built in HTML5, which allows students and teachers to access content on desktops and tablets.
We recommend the following for Internet bandwidth:
At School: The Realize application is a modern web application; the user's web browser will cache Realize for a period of 30 days or until a new version becomes available. It is estimated that an average of 12MB worth of data is transmitted per student per day. This estimate is based on a student usage session of seven page hits and downloading one content item.
At Home: Broadband via cable modem, DSL, or other high-speed Internet connection
Check your web cache settings. When properly configured, web caching may result in improved performance.
- Configure pop-up blockers to include pearsonrealize.com, *.pearsoncmg.com, and school.pearsoned.com in the list of allowed sites. If in doubt, check with your school's technology department for the proper browser pop-up and security settings.
- Pearson does not recommend disabling pop-up blockers.
- Disable the Internet Explorer® Content Advisor
