Export advanced reports

1. From your Gradebook, select Export Data from the toolbar.
2. Optionally choose a delimiter for your CSV file.
3. Select the Advanced tab on the Export Data page.
4. In a coordinator course, select the courses to include in your report and choose one file or separate files.
5. Enter a file name for your report.
6. Select the type of export from the menu:
   • Student Assignment Results — Student scores on assignments.
   • Student Performance by Chapter or Standard — Student scores by chapter or standard in accreditation-based courses.
   • Student Proficiency — If your course offers Adaptive Diagnostic tests, scores showing students' prerequisite knowledge for your course content.
   • Item Analysis — How students performed on each question in a selected assignment.
7. Select a spreadsheet layout, depending on your export type.
8. Choose the data to include in your report.
9. Select Request Export.
10. Select the Retrieve Advanced Exports tab to see the status of your request. When it's ready, select the file name to download the file.

    You also get an email with a link to download the file.

For Student Assignment Results, select a format for importing into these gradebooks:

• MyLab/XL format — The Pearson standard format for MathXL, MathXL for School, and MyLab and Mastering courses.
• Blackboard 8/9 format — Older Blackboard courses.
• Blackboard-MyLab / Mastering format — Blackboard Learn 9.1 SP 6 or higher.
• Canvas format
• D2L Brightspace and Moodle format

For Student Performance, select:

• Summary only — Average and median scores.
• Summary and Student Detail — In addition to the summary, individual student results and results sorted by chapter or standard.

For Item Analysis, select:

• Item summary only — How students performed on each question in the selected assignment.
• Item summary and scores by student — Both a summary and individual student scores on every question in the selected assignment.

  This option is not available when you export scores for all attempts, when your scoring options are set to average score, or when you report on all scores.

The data available for your export depends on your spreadsheet layout. The choices are mostly self-explanatory, but might include:

• User Identifier — Show students' names using identifiers.
• Login Name from MyLab/XL — List students' names in the standard Pearson format (as students entered them when they registered for their online course).
• Uploaded Student ID — List student names with user IDs added by Pearson.

  If you're importing into Blackboard, students' IDs must match their user names in the roster.

• Include inactive students — Show students set as inactive in your Gradebook and students with expired temporary access.
• Include Omitted Results — Clear to include omitted assignments without their scores.
• Item summary only — For item analyses, export a summary of student performance on each question in a selected assignment.
• Item summary and scores by student — For item analyses, export a summary and the scores for each student on each question in a selected assignment.

  This option isn't available when you export scores for all attempts or when your scoring options are set to Average score/All scores.

• Included attempt only — For item analyses, export only the test or quiz attempt set in your scoring options.
• Weighted Average of selected assignments — Show averages computed using the assignment weighting. If you selected category weighting on the Change Weights page, these averages might differ from your Gradebook averages.
