Upload a video
Your instructor can set up MediaShare assignments that accept video submissions. When you upload a video, you can make it available to the entire class, just a group of students and the instructor, or only the instructor.
MediaShare accepts the following video file formats: .flv, .asf, .qt, .mov, .avi, .wmv, .mp4, .f4v, .mpeg, .mxf, .rm, and .3gp.
Note: If your uploaded video isn't published right away, check with your instructor before uploading it again. Your instructor may be monitoring and then publishing assignment submissions.
To upload a video:
- Open the assignment.
- Click the Upload Video button, across from the assignment's title near the top of the page.
- Do one of the following:
- Upload a video file.
(Show me the steps.)- Click the Upload tab.
- Click the Click to continue link.
- Click the Browse button and select the file to upload.
- Click the Upload! button.
- Click the Next button when the upload has completed.
- (Optional) Enter a Title that MediaShare is to display instead of the file name.
- Click the Next button.
- Wait for the video to upload. (See Video size and upload times.)
- Record and upload a video using a webcam.

- Click the Webcam tab.
- Select your webcam from the drop-down list.
Note: Adobe Flash Player may display a pop-up that requests permission to access your webcam. You need to allow this access before you can record a video with your webcam. If applicable, click the Allow button to grant permission.
- Click the Record button and record your video.
- Click the Stop button.
- (Optional) Click the Play button to view your recording.
- Click the Next button.
- (Optional) Enter a Title that MediaShare is to display instead of the file name.
- Click the Next button.
- Wait for the video to upload. (See Video size and upload times.)
- Complete the entries on the Edit My Submission page.
