Using a Self Study eText

Self-study mode allows students to study a complete eText without the need to join a course.

Your eText may not support self-study mode. If available, you will find this option the first time you open your eText or by clicking the Settings link.

To open an eText in self-study mode:

1. Click Settings in the upper right of the page.
2. From the My Courses tab, click Self Study eText.

The eText opens up in self-study mode with no course information visible on the top.

To exit self-study mode and join a course: 

1. Click Settings in the upper right of the page.
2. Do one of the following options:
   1. Select the course from the list provided in the My Other Courses box and click Select Course in front of course

      or

   2. Click Join Another Course, located to the right in the My Other Courses box.

      Search for a course by entering one of the following: eText Course ID*, Course Title, Instructor Last Name. Then click Search.

      *Note that your eText Course ID may be different from the Course ID provided by your Pearson learning platform.

To return to the Bookshelf page (if available): 

Click Bookshelf in the upper right of the page.

To return to the eText Viewer:

Click Go to eText in the upper right of the page.
