Hiding or showing highlights

If you see the following button in your eText toolbar, you can show and hide highlighting; otherwise you cannot.

Note: The color of the Highlighting Tool may vary between instructors and students.

To hide or show highlighted areas on the page:

Click the arrow to the right of the Highlighting Tool.
Depending on the highlighter's current state, select Hide Highlights option to hide highlights or Show Highlight option to show highlights from the drop-down.

If you select the Hide Highlights option, Highlighting Tool button appears with a red color symbol indicating that highlighting has been disabled. When the Highlighting Tool button is in disabled state, the following conditions exist:

Previously created highlighting is hidden.
You cannot create additional highlighting.
