Enable online tutoring for your students

If your institution has a license with Smarthinking, you can make 24/7 tutoring available to students in your Revel course. You just need to enable an option on the Settings page:

1. Select Settings > Course Details.
2. In Applications & Integrations, select Smarthinking Online Tutoring.

   If you don’t see this section, your institution doesn’t have an agreement with Smarthinking.

3. You can turn this option off and back on at any time. Your students' archived tutoring sessions are unaffected.

How online tutoring works

• If you enable online tutoring, students see an Online tutoring section on their Study page.
• To begin, they select Check it out to open the Smarthinking tutoring application, then follow screen prompts to select a discipline and a tutoring time. They can also browse an extensive library of online resources in a variety of disciplines.
• The Smarthinking Support page details how to enter and submit questions, interact with the Smarthinking whiteboard, and save and review previous sessions.
• This free-to-students resource is available 24/7. And students who used the service saw an average of .5 GPA improvement. Nice!
