Create a student account for Learning Catalytics

You need to create a student account before you can access and participate in a Learning Catalytics session. How you create a student account depends on whether:

• You are currently enrolled in a Pearson MyLab and Mastering (MLM) course and have purchased access to the eText that accompanies that course. If you already crossed over from the MLM course into Learning Catalytics, you've already set up your account. There's nothing more you need to do.

  If you haven't yet crossed over from your MLM course, see the first procedure below, "To register when you are using Learning Catalytics with an MLM product."

• You are not enrolled in an MLM course, but need to set up an account in a "standalone" Learning Catalytics course. If you have an access code provided by your instructor or institution, use the second procedure, "To register with an access code when you're not using an MLM product."

  An access code is a series of letters and looks something like this: SWCDLF-ACDCA-DIVAN-JABOT-PLUMBS

  If you need to purchase access, use the last procedure, "To register and pay for access when you're not using Learning Catalytics with an MLM product."

To register when you are using Learning Catalytics with an MLM product

1. Go to the Learning Catalytics website.
2. Click the Register icon.
   
3. Select the Student tab.
4. Select Yes, I'm using Learning Catalytics with a MyLab or Mastering product
5. Click the name of your MyLab and Mastering product.
6. Follow the instructions in your product's PDF file.

To register with an access code when you're not using an MLM product

1. Go to the Learning Catalytics website.
2. Click the Register icon.
   
3. Select the Student tab.
4. Select No, I'm not using Learning Catalytics with a MyLab and Mastering product.
5. Select Yes, I have an access code.
6. Read and Accept the License Agreement and Privacy policy.

   The Access Information page is displayed.

7. Do one of the following, depending on whether you already have a Pearson Education account:
   • Click Yes if you already have an account, and supply your existing account credentials. This account can be one that you use currently or used previously for access to another Pearson product.
   • Click No if you have never created a Pearson account, and complete the fields to create a new account.

   If you have a Pearson account, it's easiest for you to use it. If you're not sure, click the link and enter an email address or login name that would have been associated with an account.

8. Enter your access code and click Next.

To register and pay for access when you're not using an MLM product

1. Go to the Learning Catalytics website.
2. Click the Register icon.
   
3. Select the Student tab.
4. Select No, I'm not using Learning Catalytics with a MyLab and Mastering product.
5. Select No, I would like to buy access.
6. Select access for 6 months or 12 months.
7. Read and Accept the License Agreement and Privacy policy.

   The Product Selection page is displayed.

8. Do one of the following, depending on whether you already have a Pearson Education account:
   • Click Yes if you already have an account, and supply your existing account credentials. This account can be one that you use currently or used previously for access to another Pearson product. Then click Next.
   • Click No if you have never created a Pearson account, and complete the fields to create a new account. Then click Next.

   If you have an account, it's easiest for you to use it. If you're not sure, click the link and enter an email address or login name that would have been associated with an account.

9. Enter your Payment Information and click Next.
