About the Simple Editor
The Simple Editor is an alternative to the Advanced Editor for creating and editing assignable items in Mastering. The Simple Editor contains most, but not all, of the editing features available in the Advanced Editor.
The Simple Editor runs on any computer/browser combination supported by Mastering. For Windows, this includes Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer browsers. For Mac OS, this includes Chrome, Firefox, and Safari browsers. For specific version combinations, refer to the system requirements for your Mastering product. Compare this with the more restrictive system requirements for the Advanced Editor.
Answer types you can also create with the Simple Editor: See Answer types overview to compare answer types you can create with either editor. Answer types that are common to both editors are named differently in each editor.
Edits that you can also do with the Simple Editor: Edit item structure, including to add, delete, or reorder parts, hints, and transitions. Edit part content, including question text and instructions, answers, wrong answer feedback, and follow-up text. You can also add and edit images, media, links, variables, and tables. For more details, open the Simple Editor Help.
Edits that require the Advanced Editor: You cannot use the Simple Editor to add and edit any subhints. (A subhint is a hint inside of another hint.) Nor can you add or edit links to the eText with the Simple Editor. You can, however, delete a link to the eText.
Open the Simple Editor Help now or click Help when you are in the Simple Editor. Help is also available from numerous other links in the Simple Editor.
