Complex number mathematics
You can include the following kinds of complex number mathematic expressions in solutionSymbolic and solutionSymbolicSet answer types.
Complex number in rectangular form
Students can enter their answers using the keyboard, such as a-ib or a+jb.
Complex number in polar/phasor form (MasteringEngineering only)
Students enter an expression that includes the phasor symbol using either of the following methods.
- Typing cis, for example 20cis(30).
- Clicking

Complex conjugation (MasteringEngineering only)
