Compare Homework, Quiz, and Test assignment categories

The Homework, Quiz, and Test categories provide grading and presentation settings for these kinds of assignments. You can edit their default settings and even add your own categories.
These categories should meet most of your needs for Mastering standard assignments, including parent assignments—upon which Adaptive Follow-Up assignments are based.
- Students are guided with any available hints and eTextbook review links.
- Students get 6 answer attempts per question.
- The correct answer is shown when students exhaust all attempts or give up.
- The score is available to students immediately.
- Students are allowed to print the assignment and rework completed items for practice.
- Students get only 1 answer attempt per question.
Once a student submits an answer, no more submissions are allowed.To allow more answer attempts, you must first change the “Show Students Whether an Answer is Correct” setting to “After each answer attempt”. How to edit grading and presentation settings for an assignment or category
- Students receive no feedback, hints, or eTextbook review links.
- Correct answers are not shown, and the student's score is not visible until the student has completed the assignment.
- Students can't print quizzes, nor rework completed items for practice.
Consider selecting , Randomize Item Sequence, and Randomize variables (for applicable content) from the Organization page of the create/edit assignment process.
- Students get only 1 answer attempt per question.

- Correct answers are not shown, and the assignment score is not visible until the assignment is due.
- Students can't print tests nor rework completed items for practice.
- The sequence in which the items are presented is randomized for each student.
- Titles of all items are replaced with a generic label that you specify, such as "Item [number]."
- Students cannot reopen a completed assignment until after its due date.
Consider selecting and Randomize variables (for applicable content) from the Organization page of the create/edit assignment process.
- Assignment Has a Time Limit - Can be applied either as an assignment setting change or category setting change. Timed assignments must be completed on a computer, not a mobile device.
- Require Password - Can be applied as an assignment setting change, but not for a category. Password-protected assignments must be completed on a computer, not a mobile device.
