After you have set up a Learning Catalytics course, notified students to confirm their access, and created a module with questions, you're ready to assign modules for individual work.
Two kinds of modules are well suited for individual work outside of class:
For both of these module types you can optionally set a Start at time and a Duration. Full descriptions of the options are in Add a Learning Catalytics module.
Unless you have established a Start at time, you must manually start a session for the module.
Open the course that contains the module.
When you're ready, click .
Tip: Whenever you start a module, check the breadcrumbs at the top of the page to confirm that you are delivering the module from the correct course.
Unlike Mastering assignments, Learning Catalytics modules don't appear on students' Mastering Course Calendars, Assignments list, or Mobile Dashboard.
To assign the module, you might want to use a Mastering announcement to notify students about the module's start and end dates.
If you want students to be able to review responses in these modules, and if you have not established an automatic stop time, then be sure to click to allow students to review their responses and the correct answers for questions.
Stopping the session also sends scores to the Learning Catalytics Gradebook, and optionally transfers scores to the Mastering Gradebook and allows students to see their scores on their individual Scores page.
