Read the End of Support Announcement.
The MyLab & Mastering Mobile Dashboard is a mobile app that students can use to see course announcements, lists of upcoming and overdue assignments, assignment scores, and documents and media files that you have uploaded or recorded using the Course Materials feature in Mastering. |
Important: To work on Mastering assignments, students must sign in to Mastering on a computer or mobile device. They cannot work on assignments using this app.
Anyone with a supported device can get the app from either the iTunes App Store or Google Play, depending on their device.
Students sign in to the app using the same username and password that they use to sign in to Mastering.
As an instructor, you can use a complimentary student access code to create a Student account to register and sign in as a student in your course. Then you can use your student username and password to sign in to the app on a mobile device and experience the app as a student.
Students can use the app to track Mastering course Activity (announcements, assignments, and scores), and view Files (documents, audio recordings, videos, and screencasts) that you have uploaded or recorded using the Course Materials feature.
Mastering course Activity is listed chronologically is grouped (newest to oldest) under these headings: Tomorrow, Today, Yesterday, future dates [scroll up] and prior dates [scroll down].
If a student has any overdue assignments, an alert appears when the student first signs in to the app. Clicking View displays only the overdue assignments.
Note: Offline Activities and Learning Catalytics modules are not listed with Assignments in the app; but if you have added their scores to the Mastering Gradebook, these grades do appear with Scores in the app.
Each listing includes the name of the Pearson course, along with the following information for the different kinds of activities listed:
Assignments: All assignments that are currently available to students are listed with the assignment title; the student's status of Completed, Not Started, or Exempt; and the due date. If the title is longer than the allotted space on a student's mobile device, the student can tap the assignment to see the full title, along with other information, if applicable:
Scores: Title of the assignment, status (Complete), and score. If the score displays any of the following differences, the student can tap the score to see details that explain:
You might want to remind students who use the app that they can see more details about their scores on the Mastering Scores page.
Mastering course Files are listed under Documents or Media. These are files that you have recorded or uploaded using the Course Materials feature and are supported by the student's device.
Each listing includes the name of the Pearson course, the title of the document or media file, and an icon indicating the kind of file. Students can download document files for viewing offline, and can stream media files.
Notes:
If students used the same username and password to register for multiple courses, activities for all those courses are automatically listed together, and students can filter to view only one course at a time.
If students have used a different Pearson account (different username) to register for other courses, they have the option of combining those course activities into the same list by adding another profile in the app. That way they can sign in once to see activities for all their supported Pearson Ed courses.
Initially, activities for all courses are displayed in one list. To see each course's activities listed separately, students can swipe left or right. Dots on the course indicator bar show movement from one course to a different course.
All dates reflect the time zone established for the course. If students are using the app in other time zones, they should be aware of when the course's Tomorrow, Today, and Yesterday begin and end.
