Make a student active or inactive in a course
Updated 17 Aug 2021
You can use the roster to make a student active or inactive in your course. Inactive students no longer see your course in their course list and cannot access your course content. Also, you cannot promote an inactive student to teaching assistant.
- Select Manage Course from the main menu, and then select Course Roster or in Mastering, Roles and Enrollment Status.
(In some courses you select Course Roster under Course Tools.)
- To find the student you want to make inactive in the Name column, type a few letters of the student's name or email address in the search field . (Select Show All to clear your search results.) You can also choose the first letter of the student’s last name in the alphabetical list.
- In the Status column, select Active.
Note: You cannot change the status if a student's access has expired. After the student pays for access, the Status menu is available.
- For Status, select Inactive.
- Select close to go back to the list.
The student's row is highlighted to indicate a change.
- Change the status for additional students, if necessary.
- Select Save to apply changes to all highlighted rows in the list, or select Cancel to discard all changes and close the roster.
