Open and navigate the Pearson eText

1. With your course open in a browser, select eText in the course menu.

   If you don’t see this option, an eText may not be enabled for your course.

2. Choose the link or button on the content page, whether View, Access the eText, or other.

   The eText opens in its own browser tab or window.

What’s Pearson+? 1,500+ eTexts and study tools, all in one place, for one low monthly subscription for students. MyLab and Mastering instructors can also sign in to this site to open eTexts associated with courses in their account.

1. Go to Pearson+.

2. Sign in with the same Pearson account you use for your course.

3. Select the eText for the course.
   The associated course name appears with the book cover.

   If you don’t see the book listed — In Search your eTexts, enter the applicable course name (or the book ISBN), the book name, or its author. You can also choose whether to search from or show active eTexts, inactive eTexts, or all eTexts.

   Sort the eTexts shown — Select Last viewed, Recently added, A-Z, or Z-A in the “Sort by” area.

To return to Pearson+ from your eText, select from the sidebar menu.

When you first sign in, the eText opens with its sidebar menu available. To close the sidebar menu, select Hide.

Select from the eText sidebar menu then move the slider to a different book location.

• Go to a chapter, section, bookmark, or page —
  Move the slider, stopping at a labeled chapter/section or page that you want. For bookmarks, hover along the bar then select the bookmark you want.
  

  

• Return to last opened content —
  Hover along the bar then select the point (marked by ) with a label, such as “13 Meiosis”.

• Open the Table of Contents — Select from the eText sidebar menu.

• Show subsections — Select .

• Go to a chapter, section, or subsection — Select a chapter, section, or subsection name. You can also drill down to named pages, such as About the Author.

• Show bookmarks or recent pages — Select Bookmarks or Recent, for recently visited pages in your session.

If you've recently added any bookmarks or visited pages in your eText, you can quickly return to these from the Table of Contents.

1. Select from the eText sidebar menu.
2. Choose Bookmarks or Recent.

   • Bookmarks — Appear in chapter order.

   • Recent — Shows up to three recent places you visited in the current eText session.

3. Select an entry to return to that location.
   (Choosing deletes a bookmark.)

Access to all bookmarks —
Select from the sidebar menu, hover along the bar, and then select the point for a bookmark label.

• Go to a previous or next page — Select the previous and next arrows on a book page. If the previous and next buttons are for chapter subsections, you may need to scroll to see the next or previous page.

  You can also select from the eText sidebar menu, then use the slider.

• Go to a specific print book page

  Most eTexts —
  Select from the eText sidebar menu, then move the slider to visit a particular page. In some eTexts, you can enter a page number in the Search box, such as page 113.

  PDF eTexts (the pages match the book pages) —
  Either enter a different page number at the bottom of the page or in the box above the slider after you select from the eText sidebar menu.

From a book content page, select a figure/table, audio/video, glossary term, or other link to open or play it directly from your current context.

After signing in to https://mlm.pearson.com, students select Renew your Pearson eText access from the course tile and complete the purchase. If the course has ended, they should select Inactive to view past courses.

• Any student highlights and notes appear in the renewed eText. Instructor notes are not included. If students add the same eText to their Pearson+ monthly subscription, it will not include their highlights and notes from the eText associated with your course.

• This renewal feature is not available from an LMS integrated course.

The eText is screen reader accessible, although some content may be inaccessible. In addition to accessibility tools you may use on your laptop (like a screen magnifier), your eText may provide the following.

• Audiobook —
  Select   from the eText sidebar menu to open the playlist for your book. The audiobook is available for most eTexts, although not for PDF eTexts.
• eText display settings —
  Select from the eText sidebar menu to change eText display settings, like whether to hide or show highlights.
• Accessibility info from Pearson —
  From most eText content pages, select your account initials (top right) then Accessibility. For PDF eTexts, select   (top right), About, and then Accessibility.

The Pearson+ app and the Pearson eText | Global app are for tablets and smartphones.

After students download their book from the app over the Internet, they can study with the eText on their mobile devices—even when WiFi is unavailable. Instructors can also use the eText app.
