Upload an existing syllabus

If you’ve already created your syllabus in a Microsoft Word (.doc) file, you can conveniently upload the file into your course. Alternatively, you can manually create a new syllabus within the course, but you can’t combine both methods.

  1. Select the Syllabus menu item.

    If Syllabus doesn't appear in the course menu, you may be able to restore it.

  2. Select Manage View above the Syllabus page then select Manage.
  3. Select Upload Microsoft Word Syllabus (.doc) and select Add.
  4. Select Choose File to locate the syllabus .doc file.

    For the best experience and greatest security, use https addresses for website links within uploaded files. For example, https://www.ed.gov.

  5. Select Upload & Convert File.

    As soon as the file is converted to HTML, you can select Syllabus in the course menu to see it.
