Work self-guided tutorials in Mastering Astronomy

Mastering Astronomy features self-guided tutorials with animations, interactive activities, and quizzes to help you learn and practice important astronomy concepts.

For the latest keyboard instructions, select Help from inside a tutorial.
The same self-guided tutorials available for independent study from the Study Area may also be assigned in your course.

You can open and complete these interactive astronomy tutorials from the Study Area as many times as you like. No work or score is recorded.
- Select Study Area from the course menu. You may need to select a secondary option, like Launch the Study Area.
The Study Area opens in a new window or tab.
- Select Self-Guided Tutorials.
- Open a tutorial by selecting its name.

After you step through the self-guided tutorial from the assignment, complete the item part questions (Part A, B, etc.).
- These questions are automatically scored, with your results appearing in the open assignment and on the Scores page.
- Assigned tutorials may be for credit or for practice (0 points).
