Items for practice versus for credit
Updated 19 Feb 2024
When you open an assignment, the items it contains indicate whether they are for practice or for credit points. A record of the work that you do is reported to your instructor's Mastering gradebook, regardless of item point values. About extra credit and full credit items

The label "is for practice" displays to the right of the item title. There's no point value (0 points) for work you do on such items.
If you're pressed for time by the assignment due date, you may be tempted to skip practice items. However, items for practice can help you to complete items for credit later.

The point value, such as "2 point(s)", displays to the right of the item name.
"(full credit)" means that you'll get this amount of credit, even if some of your answers are incorrect. This label typically applies to items in the introductory assignment. More about full credit items
