Find or create foods

On the Diet page, in 1. Find or create food and add to diet, you can:

  • Search for foods in the MyDietAnalysis database of more than 103,000 foods
  • Show nutritional details for each food in your search results
  • Create a new food or recipe and add it to your diet

On the same page, in 2. Add days and refine diet, you can:

  • Add additional days to track
  • Add food to those days
  • Adjust serving sizes
  • Delete food from meals

Search for food in the database

  1. Search for a food:
  • Select Search and type a food name to find a food in the MyDietAnalysis database.
  • Select Limit search to to see only foods that match additional criteria you enter.
  • Select the Info icon to see nutritional details for each food in your search results.
  1. Select one or more foods from the search results to add to your diet.
  2. Select the meal where you want to add them, then select Add to diet.

The foods you selected appear in the Add days and refine Diet card. After you select a food, you can quickly find and add it to another day or meal using Quick select.

Create a new food

  1. Select Create food, then Create new food.
  2. Enter the food name, serving unit, weight unit, and any additional nutrient information you have.
  3. Select Save food. The new food appears in your My foods list.

Create a new recipe

  1. Select Create recipe, then Create new recipe.
  2. Enter the recipe name and number of servings, then Save recipe.
  3. Search for recipe ingredients by name, brand, or description. Select ingredient(s) from the Search results.
  4. Select Add to recipe, then Save recipe again. The recipe appears in your My recipes list.

See nutritional information for a recipe

  1. Select the Info icon for a recipe to display its ingredients.
  2. Select the Info icon next to each ingredient to see its nutritional information.

Edit a recipe

  1. Select Create recipe to display My recipes.
  2. Select the recipe that you want to edit, then select Edit at the bottom of the page.

Add food to your diet

  1. Select a food you created or found in the database, then select the meal when you plan to consume the food.
  2. Select Add to diet. The food appears under the meal you selected.

Add more days to track

  • Select + in the tab bar. Continue selecting + to add up to seven days total.

Add food to days

  1. Select a food, then Add to days.

The added food appears in Day 1 the first time you add it.

  1. Add food to subsequent days using Add to other days.

Adjust serving sizes

  • Select a food, then select a serving size from the menu in the Unit column.
  • If you're not sure of the recommended serving size for a food, consult this visual guide.

Delete food from meals

  1. Select a food. The day(s) where you added the food appear highlighted.
  2. Select Delete.
