Assignment/Submission file attachments

An assignment can have any combination of the following types of file attachments (or no file attachments at all):

Files that students attach to an assignment and then submit to you for review and a grade. These files can be a student's submission for an assignment or supplementary material that accompanies the student's submission. For more information, see Student file attachments.
Files that you attach to students' submissions when you are commenting on and grading them. For more information, see Attach files to student submissions.
Files that you attach to an assignment when you create or edit it. These files can fill a variety of uses ranging from providing information that students need to complete the assignment to reference information. For more information, see Attach files to an assignment.
