First steps: Add Pearson Links to Canvas Course Navigation and link your accounts

The first steps you need to take are to log in to your Canvas course and add the Pearson MyLab & Mastering link to Course Navigation. Then you can log in to MyLab & Mastering from Canvas and link your Canvas and Pearson accounts. Once your accounts are linked, you enter the Canvas course and click the Pearson link to enter your MyLab & Mastering course—you do not need to log in to Pearson again.

collapsedTo add MyLab & Mastering links to Course Navigation:

  1. Enter your Canvas course.
  2. Click Settings in Course Navigation.

    The Course Details tab of the Settings page is displayed.

  3. Click the Navigation tab.
  4. Scroll down to MyLab & Mastering under Drag items here to hide them from students.

  5. Drag MyLab & Mastering into the course navigation list (on the Navigation tab).
  6. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Save button.

    MyLab & Mastering is now displayed in Course Navigation. If it isn't, refresh the browser page.

    Tip: From the Navigation tab, you can drag MyLab & Mastering to another location in Course Navigation. Click the Save button at the bottom of the tab.

  7. Proceed to the procedure below to link your Canvas and Pearson accounts.

collapsedTo link your Canvas and Pearson accounts:

Important! Before you start this procedure, you need your Pearson account username and password. If you do not have a Pearson account, you can get one from your Pearson sales representative.

  1. Click MyLab & Mastering in Course Navigation.
  2. Authorize Pearson to access your account, if applicable.
  3. Click the Log in button in the message.

    The Pearson Tools page is displayed.

  4. Click Select a MyLab & Mastering product to use with this course.
  5. Click I Accept at the bottom of the End-User Agreement and Privacy Policy, if applicable.

    The Accounts page is displayed.

  6. Enter your Pearson account username and password and click Sign In.

    The Congratulations! message is displayed when your Canvas and Pearson accounts are linked. You don't need to sign in to Pearson again through Canvas.

  7. Click Get Started to create your course and complete the initial course setup.
