Step 4: Set points possible
You use this page when creating or editing a diagnostic assignment.

Points Possible
Assign the maximum number of points a student can earn for each exercise. The MyLab totals the points for all exercises to calculate the assignment's maximum number of points.

Number of Attempts Enter the number of times students can take each exercise. For example, if you enter 1, students can take the exercise only once. If you enter 2, students can take it once and then retake it. When a student retakes an exercise, the student's existing scores for that exercise are cleared from the Gradebook, Study Plan, and Resources, and these scores and results cannot be retrieved. When the student finishes retaking the exercise, the new scores and results are displayed in the Gradebook, Study Plan, and Resources. Also, regardless of the number of times you are allowing students to retake an exercise, they cannot retake it past the assignment's due date and time.
