Post files to students

Posting files make them available to your students. Once you upload files to the File Manager, you can post the files to your students' Home page and/or attach the files to assignments. Files attached to an assignment are available from the assignment's details.

To post files to the Home page:

  1. Click the Home tab.
  2. Click the Post Files button (under Course Documents) to open the File Manager.
  3. If applicable, click the folder that has the file(s) you want to post.
  4. Select the check box of the file(s) you want to post.

You can select and post more than one file at a time.

  5. Click the Post button.

File Manager flags the posted files with a blue checkmark and displays them under Course Documents on your students' and your Home page. The Course Documents list is a flat list; you can post files from different folders, but the Course Documents list does not show the folder structure.

Tip: Switch to student view to see your students' view of the Home page.

  6. (Optional) Use the drop-down lists in the Course Documents box (on your Home page) to change the order in which the files are listed. This also changes the order in which the files are listed in student view.

Both you and your students can open a file or save it to your hard disk by clicking the file's link in the Course Documents list on the Home page.

Tip: To upload and post the syllabus so it always appears at the top of the Course Documents list, see Post the course syllabus.
