Step 1: Choose Your Course

When copying or linking to a course, you use this page to select the source, or master, course. You can always copy or link to one of your own courses. A public course, however, may require that you enter a password before you can copy or link to the course. Contact the course's instructor for the password.

To copy or link to one of your own courses:

If you selected to copy or link to one of your courses, the Step 1: Choose Your Course page is displaying a list of all your courses.

  1. Select a course.

Tip: Place the mouse pointer over a Magnifying glass icon to display a pop-up showing the book cover and the title, edition, author's name, and ISBN.

  2. Click the Copy or Link button to copy or link to the selected course.

To copy or link to a public course:

Use this procedure to display a list of public courses, then select the course to copy or link to. The list of courses is based on your search criteria: instructor's last name, course ID, course name, or institution name.

  1. Select an option from the Refine Your Search drop-down list.
  2. Enter the search text.

For example, to search for Gene Cook's courses, select Instructor Last Name from the drop-down list and type Cook in the text box. You can also type just the first few characters of the search option.

  3. Click the Search button.

The Course Builder displays a list of all courses that match the search criteria. Note that you can copy only courses displaying the Copy icon icon and link only to courses displaying the Link icon icon. When a course also displays the Password icon icon, you will have to enter a password to copy or link to the course.

Tip: (Optional) Place the mouse pointer over a Magnifying glass icon icon to display a pop-up showing the course text's cover and the title, edition, and author's name.

  4. Select the course you want and click the Continue button.
