Join a Course as a Student
Joining a course as a student makes you an active student in that course, which also means you need to complete any required diagnostic tests for that course. (An alternative to joining a course as a student is to view your course in student view.)
To join a course as a student:
-
Click the My Courses link at the top of the MyLab window.
The My Courses page is displayed.
-
Click the Join a Course button (at the bottom of the page).
The Choose How You'll Work page is displayed.
- Select one of the following:
- Join Your Instructor's Course: Selecting this option takes you to a screen where you specify a course by entering its Course ID. (You get the Course ID from the instructor.) You then enter the course as a student.
- Work on Your Own: Selecting this option takes you to a screen where you can choose a text, eText, or generic version of the MyLab. Working on your own is similar to working in a class, but there are no submissions. As a student, you get all the benefits of the MyLab's resources and features, but without instructor involvement.
