Search for grades for specific students

You can use gradebook filter options to locate grades for specific students or groups. If you don't see the list of filters, click VIEW FILTERS.

Note: Teaching assistants must have permission to create groups. Use the Preferences > Permissions page to control which functionality is available to teaching assistants.

To find a student or group:

  1. Click Gradebook > Grades.
  2. In the list of filters on the left, click Students and then click Select Students. The Find users window opens.
  3. Choose one of the following options:

  4. Click Search to display the search results.

The search results appear on the Gradebook > Grades page. The total number of students found by a search appears at the top of the list in the selection indicator row.

Selection indicators

Selection indicators appear in the row located above grades on the Gradebook > Grades page.

If you select an ASSIGNMENT TYPES filter, an ASSIGNMENT STATUS filter, or search for a specific student or asset, the displayed selection indicator helps you identify the filtered results. For example, if you filter the grades list to display only the Exam activity type, the selection indicator row labels the filtered results accordingly.

To return to viewing unfiltered data or previously displayed results, click the close button located next to the selection indicator.

If you search by students, the selection indicator notes the number of students displayed on the search results page.

If you select multiple assignment types when filtering by assignment types, the Multiple Assignments Types indicator appears on the selection indicator row.

If you search by title, the Search results for "title" indicator appears on the selection indicator row.

If you do not filter or search for specific results, the selection indicator row displays the following information for each filter:
