Use and manage channels

Channels are self-contained, movable areas that provide access to various course pages. Channels appear on the and on the course Today's View page.

Each channel presents a specific category and level of information. For example, the Announcements channel on the includes announcements for all courses you teach or in which you are enrolled, while the Announcements channel on a Today's View page for a specific course includes only announcements for that course.

• To add, remove, move, and customize channels to meet your needs, select Instructors can customize their Home Page on the Preferences > Course Channels page. To allow students to add, remove, move, and customize channels, select Students can customize their Home Page on the Preferences > Course Channels page.

Note: Depending on your course design, you may not be able to customize channels or allow students to customize channels as described in this Help.
