Identify the status of course materials

Assets in the My Course list, the list of assets that is visible to students, display a status based on actions taken by students. For example, an asset that a student has opened but not yet submitted for grading might display a status of "In Progress." Assets do not display a status in the Course Materials Library.

The Course Materials > Manage Course Materials page and the My Course list on the Course Materials > Add from Library page displays a status for each asset that is visible to students based on their actions. For example, an asset that a student has opened but not yet submitted for grading might display a status of "In Progress." Assets do not display a status in the Course Materials Library.

As an instructor, you may find it useful to check the status of assets at various times. For example, if you set the due date for an important assignment at the end of the month, you might want to check which students had not yet started the assignment a week before the due date.

Available status options vary, depending on the asset type, permissions, and the page from which you access the asset. In some courses, you can view the asset status for individual students in addition to the course as a whole.
