Typically, assets of course materials are organized to align with the course textbook. However, you can reorder assets to meet your needs.
Note: Teaching assistants must have permission to organize assets. Within a course, you can give teaching assistants the ability to create or edit course materials on the Preferences > Permissions page.
On the Course Materials > Add from Library page you can reorder assets in both the Course Materials Library and My Course lists. On the Course Materials > Manage Course Materials page, you can reorder only assets in the My Course list that are available to students.
Changes you make to list order apply only to the list in which you make the change. For example, if you change asset order in the Course Materials Library and the same assets also appear in the My Course list, the assets in the My Course list remain in their original order.
There are different ways to move course materials to other locations within a list:
The cut and paste options are generally available from the toolbar of the respective list.
The asset is highlighted in a box and arrows on the sides indicate the locations where you can drop the asset.
The re-ordered asset appears in the new location with a highlighted background.
Note: To cut and paste assets in the Course Materials Library or the Add from Library page, click Advanced Options before you select the assets you want to move.
From the toolbar, click Cut.
The assets are copied to the clipboard, and appear dimmed. The Clipboard Items number reflects the number of checkboxes you selected, not the total number of assets. For example, if you select the box for a folder that contains three assets, the folder counts as one Clipboard item. However, when you paste the folder, you create a copy of the folder as well as all the assets in the folder.

To paste assets before or after a specific asset, select the asset, click Paste and select Paste Before Selected or Paste After Selected. If you select multiple assets, the pasted assets appear before or after the last asset.
The re-ordered material appears with a highlighted background.
