When you preview a question, you can view the question text and answers, but you cannot submit the question for grading. When you try out a question you can answer, submit, and view the summary report for the question the same way students would.
Important: You must have the appropriate Java browser applet installed to display many question types correctly. These question types include connect-the-points, drag-and-drop, hotspot multiple-choice, hotspot multiple-response, and slider. For more information, see System Requirements.
You can preview questions in the question preview window. At the top of the question preview window, you can view the total number of times the question was attempted and the number of times it was correctly answered (also shown as a percentage). The question preview window is available:

When you preview a question group, depending on the group settings, you see the directions, a narrative associated with the group, or nothing.
When you try out a question, the question opens in a separate window, from which you can answer and submit the question for grading.
