About the View Submissions window

Updated 19 Feb 2024

In the View Submissions window, you can view student answers, evaluate questions that need manual grading, submit an assignment for students who postponed their own submissions, and perform a variety of other functions.

You can open the View Submissions window from the gradebook by clicking a score on any activity shown and selecting View Submissions from the option menu.

The windows has three tabs: one showing all submissions, one for late submissions, and one for items not passed. Select the tab you want to see the submissions for that category.

Use the buttons on the right to view submission details or to submit a revised grade for the submission .

If a student has multiple submissions, use the expand icon next to the student's name to open or close a list of submissions by the student.

When you are on the All Submissions tab, you can filter out activities students have not submitted with the Unsubmitted Activities slider.

Time Range and Score Range

You can filter out submissions based on the number of minutes spent to complete them. By default no filter is set, but if you select the Time Range drop down and adjust the slider you can select the range of minutes taken you want to view.

The Score Range drop down works in a similar fashion. It lets you filter out submissions that are outside the range you selected based on a grade percentage. For example, if a submission has only 2 correct answers out of 4 the grade is 50%. If you then adjust the Score Range to omit 50% from the high end or the low end of the range, the submission is filtered out.

Global Grade

You can also set a global grade to for all submissions and students using the Global Grade button. The grade is expressed as a percentage from 0 to 100 and does apply to unsubmitted activities, late submissions, submissions save for late, items that have been manually graded, or submissions that have a grace period deduction.

Teaching assistants must have permission to view student submissions. Use the Preferences > Permissions page to control which functionality is available to teaching assistants. (MyLab Languages only)
