Edit grades
Updated 19 Feb 2024
Your course automatically scores and posts student grades for assignments that have auto-graded question types, such as true/false or multiple choice questions. You can edit these grades if needed.
Teaching assistants must have permission to edit student grades. Use the Preferences > Permissions page to control which functionality is available to teaching assistants. (MyLab Languages only)
There are several ways to edit grades in your course:
- You can manually edit grades that are posted in the gradebook or from the View Submissions window. The edited grade appears in the gradebook regardless of the location from which you edit the grade.
- For all gradable activities except writing assignments, you can view student progress and edit grades while you work with course materials.
- You can evaluate and enter grades for assessments that are not automatically scored, such as file upload questions.
- Open the gradebook.
- Select the grade you want to edit and clicking Edit Grades.
- Enter the new score and max score in the field provided.
- Enter any comments you want to save with this change in the Comment field.
- Click Save.
- Open the gradebook.
- Open the Submissions window for an activity.
- Use the Revise Grade button to edit of an activity for a student.
