Export and download gradebook data manually

Updated 19 Feb 2024

Teaching assistants need permission to download Gradebook data. Use the Preferences > Permissions page to control what functionality is available to teaching assistants. (MyLab Languages only)

Before you download grades, select the format to which you want to export the data, comma separated values (csv) file or PDF file:

  • csv file: A comma separated values (or comma delimited) plain text file that has one record per line. Data fields are separated by commas. You can open these files in most spreadsheet applications. Each file contains up to 256 columns.

Scores that you edited display an asterisk (*).

  • pdf file: A portable document format file that you can view or print using a PDF reader.
  1. From the gradebook, select the Export button The Export dialog box appears.
  2. Select the export format you want to use (CSV or PDF) and click Export. The grades are exported and downloaded to your computer automatically.

The current display format for the Student Name column is reflected in any grade data you download. For example, if the column displays the student ID, the download also displays the student ID.
