Navigate folders
Updated 19 Feb 2024
Course materials can be organized into one or more folders. For example, you may choose to create folders that correspond to chapters in your textbook or eText, or to learning objectives you identify for the course.
The terms "course materials" and "asset" refer to the educational resources that are available in your course. You can browse course materials from a number of course pages, including Course Materials pages and the Gradebook page.
Folder navigation
Folders provide a means of organizing related assets. A folder can hold course materials, such as files and assessments, as well as additional folders. You can work with folders in many ways:
- To open a folder, click the folder name.
- To view all available folders and subfolders, click the expand folder icon next to the current folder name.
- To expand a single folder, click the expand icon.
- To collapse a single folder, click the collapse icon.
- To open a folder in the list of course materials, click the folder name. The navigation control closes, the course materials appear in the list, and the folder name you selected appears in the navigation control.
- To view or return to the previous folder, click the previous folder icon .
- To exit the navigation control, click anywhere outside of the navigation control area.
