Assign materials without due dates
Updated 19 Feb 2024
You may want to assign assets without a specific due date. For example, you may assign assets that students must complete by the end of the course but for which there is no specific due date.
To assign assets without a due date, either the calendar or the assign activity option must be enabled. When at least one of these options is enabled, you can assign assets directly from any Course Materials list, or you can use activity properties on the options menu to assign it.
- From the list on the Course Materials > Manage Course Materials page, select the assets you want to assign. If you select a folder, all assets in the folder will be assigned.
- Click Assign/Unassign on the toolbar.
A blue checkmark appears in the Assigned column. If you select a folder, the checkmark appears for each asset in the folder, but not for the folder itself.
Students see assigned assets without a due date with an "Assigned" status on the Course Materials > View All Course Materials page.
To unassign an assigned asset, follow the procedure above to remove the assigned checkmark.
On the Assignment Calendar page, activities assigned without a due date display a checkmark ; activities assigned with a due date display a due icon .
- Select Properties (MyLab Languages) or select Set Scheduling Options (MyLab IT) from the asset options menu
You can also selectAssignment Properties from the asset options menu.
- In the Assign section of the window, select Assigned.
- Clear Assign with a due date.
- Complete any remaining options in the properties window and click Save.
For details on the other options that are available in the window, see Assign assets using the options menu.
- Click View Advanced Calendar.
- Click the day on which the assignments are currently due to switch to the day view.
- Select boxes for the assignments with due dates that you want to remove. To select all assignments, click Select All at the top of the assignment list.
- Click Remove Due Date.
- Click OK to confirm you want to remove the due date.
