Reset pre-tests
Updated 19 Feb 2024
In MyLab Languages, you build readiness checks and practice tests with study plans using the study plan activity type.
You can set a pre-test Number of attempts preference on the Study Plan preference page. With this option, you can specify a number of pre-test attempts, or allow unlimited attempts.
However, after one or more students have accessed the readiness check or study plan, you cannot make changes to pre-test preferences; the Edit option no longer appears on the pre-test options menu.
To make changes to an already-started pre-test, you need to reset the pre-test for all students who have already opened it. After you reset the pre-test, students can again access the pre-test as many times as you specified.
- Click Course Materials > Add from Library or Course Materials > Manage Course Materials.
- Locate the readiness check or study plan with the pre-test you want to reset.
- Select Edit from the readiness check or study plan options menu.
- Select View Submissions from the pre-test options menu.
- Select the student name and click All submissions from this student.
- Repeat these steps for each student who started or submitted a pre-test that you want to edit.
Teaching assistants must have permission to reset study plans. Instructors use the Preferences > Permissions page to determine what features are available to teaching assistants.
- Click Course Materials > Add from Library or Course Materials > Manage Course Materials.
- Locate the study plan with the pre-test you want to reset.
- Click the down arrow to the right of the study plan to open the options menu.
- Select Edit from the study plan's options menu.
- Click the Build Study Plan tab.
- Open the pre-test's options menu and select View Submissions.
- Select the student name, click Delete, and select All submissions from this student.
- If you need to reset the pre-test for more than one student, select each student in turn and repeat the previous step.
