Creating a Profile to Send Quiz Results to your Instructor
You can send quiz results to your professor each time you take a quiz. You can also automate how and where you send quiz results by creating a profile, as follows:
- Click the Profile button at the top of any Companion Website page. The Profile window opens.
- Under Personal Information, type your name and email address in the boxes provided.
- Under Instructor Information, enter your instructor's name and email address and, optionally, the name and email address of other staff members who should receive your quiz results.
- Under Send quiz results to, click the box to the left of Instructor, as well as the boxes to the left of other staff members who should receive results.
- In the drop-down box next to each name you selected, click an option for how to send results:
- As plain text in the body of an email message
- As HTML in the body of an email message
- As an attachment to an email message
- As an HTML attachment to an email message
Note: HTML is preferable to text because the images that appear in your quiz results will appear in the HTML message. Text messages include no images but are safer because they can be read with any email program. Confirm with your instructor and others receiving your results that they are able to read HTML messages before sending them.
- Click the Save Profile button.
Notes
- No special characters are supported in email addresses, and only some special characters are supported in the other profile fields. If you use a special character, save the profile, and then find that the characters after the special character have been lost, that character is unsupported.
- Profiles are stored as cookies. Your browser must be configured to accept cookies. If it is not, refer to your browser's documentation for instructions on changing the setting.
- Your profile is stored on the computer you are using when you create it and is only available there. If you work on a shared computer (in a computer lab, for example), the profile you create can be overwritten by anyone else who uses the same lab computer you did. If that happens, you must re-create your profile.
- Your personal information is available for any website in the same domain (for example, http://wps.aw.com/) as the site you are visiting when you create the profile. The Instructor Information in your profile is only available at the website where you create it.
- You can update or re-create a profile at any time by clicking the Profile button, changing the information and clicking Save Profile again.
