Use Study Plan recommendations

In the What to work on next list, the section or objective at the top of the list of recommendations is the one you should work on first. It is indicated by either an orange pushpin or a purple pushpin , depending on your course.

Additional recommendations are shown with a purple pushpin. In some cases, you may have to click a link like this to see your other recommendations:

On the right of the recommendations, you see how many points you will receive when you master the material.

You can:

• If available, click the recommended media icon to go to the Recommended Media page, where you can access media (such as a video or a PowerPoint show) to help you review the material.
• Click Practice to work on a recommendation without affecting your score.
• Click Quiz Me when you are ready to prove that you have mastered the material. (If your instructor hides Quiz Me, you see a Ready to prove mastery link instead.)

If you take a Quiz Me quiz and do not prove mastery, you have to practice again before you can take another Quiz Me.

If your instructor assigns Study Plan work as a prerequisite for tests or quizzes, you see two filter buttons at the top of the page:

• Show All lists all the sections or objectives that you need to work on next.
• Show by Assignment displays a dropdown list of assignments with Study Plan prerequisites.

To do the prerequisite work for a test or quiz:

1. Click Show by Assignment.
2. Choose the assignment in the dropdown list and click Go to see only the Study Plan work for that test or quiz.
3. Practice the recommendations and then take a Quiz Me to prove that you have mastered the recommended material.

When you have completed the recommendations for the test or quiz, you are ready to take the test or quiz. (In some cases, your instructor might customize the required recommendations so that you do not need to do all the recommended Study Plan work.)

When you are viewing all your Study Plan work, at the top of the page you see how many points you have received by proving that you have mastered a section or objective. You can click View progress to go to the Study Plan Progress page, where you can see how many sections or objectives you have mastered and how many still remain. The section or objective that you most recently mastered may also be shown at the bottom of the page with a mastery icon .

You can click View all chapters to go the Study Plan Contents page. This page lists all the chapters, sections, and objectives in your Study Plan and shows you which ones you have mastered. You also can do Study Plan work from this page.

If you chose Show by Assignment to view the Study Plan work you need to do as a prerequisite for a test or quiz, you see how many mastery points you have earned and how many you still need to earn. A progress bar on the top right gives you a graphical view of your progress.

If you have already proved mastery of any of the concepts covered by the Study Plan prerequisite, you do not have to do those parts of the Study Plan prerequisite. You will see mastery points have been awarded for your earlier work and the progress bar will already be partially filled in.
