Do homework with JAWS
Updated 24 Jun 2024
When you do homework and Study Plan questions, the player is in homework mode.
You can cut, copy, and paste using keyboard shortcuts; you also can use the command-line language to enter special characters and symbols.
In homework mode, the player displays the following information:
- The homework name and objective.
- The question number in the assignment, its number in the textbook, and the number of parts in a multipart question.
- Your score so far, the number of points in the assignment, and the number of points available for the question.
Below this information, the player has a work area where you read the question and enter your answer.
The player has the following options in homework mode:
- Overview opens a list of questions in the homework.
- Check answer
tells you whether you answered correctly. In a multipart problem, this
button changes to Continue so you can move to
the next part.
For many questions, the Check answer button changes to Similar question after you have checked your answer. This button lets you try the same question again but with different values. Your score on the question (correct or incorrect) is determined by your most recent attempt.
- Clear all clears your current answer and returns the problem to its original state so you can enter a new answer. In problems with multiple steps, the answer to the current part is cleared.
- Save saves your answers and closes the player. Whether you select Save or not, your score on a question is entered in your instructor's gradebook when you get the correct answer or when the answer is marked wrong.
- Submit enters your final score in your instructor's gradebook. After you have answered all the questions, the Save button changes to Submit.
The player also has a button for each type of help available for this question. Select a button to get help with answering the question.
