Mini Sims
Updated 21 Aug 2024
Some business MyLabs offer Mini Sims - simulation exercises where you play the role of a business professional and use course concepts to make decisions about real-world business problems. Your path through a Mini Sim adapts to your decisions.
You can do Mini Sims on a smartphone, tablet, or computer.
- Read the scenario and select Next until you reach a decision point.
- At each point, choose a decision, select Submit, and review the feedback on your decision.
Your decisions determine your path through the rest of the scenario.
A progress shows you how much of the simulation you have completed.
You can select the play button to hear the text, the transcript button to read the complete text of the simulation so far, or the information button to review the scenario.
- When you finish, you see your overall score, the average score of your classmates (if your instructor allows it), and the number of points you earned for each decision.
Select a decision point to see your choice and the feedback.
- If allowed, you can select Retry to try to improve your score. Otherwise, select Submit to enter your score in your instructor's gradebook.
- Make sure you have a good Wi-Fi connection on your device. Working on a smartphone is not recommended.
- When you launch a Team Mini Sim, one student from each team must select Create Team and assign a name to the team.
- Other team members locate the team name and select Submit to join.
To change teams, select Edit Team.
- When the team agrees on a decision, the members submit the decision individually.
Your team must agree on the decision. If not, you must retry the decision point. However, individual team members can submit a different decision and get feedback on both decisions after the team has submitted all the decisions.
When you finish, you see your Results page. Your team can select Retry to redo the simulation if your instructor allows it. All team members must rejoin within the allotted time.
