Portfolio assignments

A portfolio assignment is a collection of document files, and each document is a portfolio page. You can add assignment and personal documents that you worked on in the composing space to a portfolio. However, an assignment document must already be submitted to the instructor before you can add it to the portfolio.

Depending on how your instructor set up the portfolio assignment, you may be able to attach files to it. Again, these files must be attached to an assignment or personal document that you worked on in the composing space.

You can also create a personal document using the portfolio assignment as the starting point. This is also the only way you can attach a file to a personal document, and the attachment is accessible only from the portfolio assignment.

Any documents you add to a portfolio are not linked to the original document. Any changes you make to the original document or its attached files are not reflected in the portfolio. To update the portfolio, you need to remove and then re-add the document to the portfolio.

The following procedures describe how to add assignment and personal documents to a portfolio and how to review and edit a portfolio. Click a procedure's link to display its steps.
