Listening to Audio Flows

The Audio text synch up feature converts the eText text language into speech. You can hear the various audio flows of the eText in the Authoring tool.

To hear the audio flows on the page:

  1. From Authoring Home, select or search for an eText.
  2. From the Authoring menu, click Review eText Pages and Region Hotspots and Zoom Areas.
  3. Click the Show/Hide Audio Flows button near the top left of the page to see the various audio flows on the page.

  1. Click the Audio icon on the page to hear a specific audio flow.
  1. Double-click the highlighted or underlined word to open the Property Editor Panel, shown in the following figure.

Use the following description to learn more about the fields and values in the Property Editor panel for audio flow.

Parameter Value Description
Primary Flow check box

Identifies the primary flow on the target page.

Audio File MP3 file Defines the audio file being played.
Icon Placement [numeric] Defines the X and Y coordinate for the audio icon placed on the target page.
Block Type [text] Determines if the block is a sentence, line or paragraph.
Word [text] The target word being read.
Start/Stop Index [numeric] Determines the start/stop time of the audio clip for a block in the given audio file. This value is in milliseconds.
Word Geometry [numeric]

X and Y specify the geometric location in points to the upper left corner on the target page.

W and H specify the width and height of the word.

Note: You cannot modify or save the details in the Property Editor Panel for Audio text.
