Joining a course

Your eText may not include an option to join a course. If it does not have this option, disregard these instructions.

If joining a course within your eText is an option and you are using another Pearson learning platform in conjunction with your eText, your course information is often automatically transferred into your eText. Often you are prompted to join a course the first time you access your eText when the option to join is available. Students who have joined a course within their eText may edit their course settings and join additional courses by completing the following steps:

1. Click the Settings link.
2. Select the My Courses tab.
3. Click Join Another Course (at the right in the My Other Courses box)

To join a course:

1. Search for a course by Course ID (provided by your instructor), Course Title, or Instructor Last Name. Then click Search.

   Note: Your eText Course ID may different from the Course ID provided by your Pearson learning platform.

2. Click Join (at the left of a search result) to join that course.
3. From the Course Joining Complete page you can verify the course information and click Go to eText to display the eText in the Viewer:
   • The course you selected is the active eText and is displayed the next time you log in.
   • The course ID is displayed at the bottom right of the eText Viewer; the course name and section name are displayed at the top left.

To use eText in self-study mode:

Click Self Study eText (at the right of the Self Study eText area) to use an eText in self-study mode.

The title page of the eText is displayed in the eText Viewer.
