Units for numerical responses
Updated 05 Mar 2024
Students can be asked to enter units as part of a numeric answer. Most standard units of measurement are supported, and the scoring engine is smart enough to be able to accept equivalent responses that use different numbers and units. (For example, 2 ft and 24 in are considered equivalent.)
Units are not case-sensitive.
- If you want students' answers to include units, enter the units as part of the answer. (This includes currency units.)
- If you enter a number without units, then students also need to enter a number without units.
For information on automatic scoring of numerical questions, see Descriptions of options.
