The Functional Group expression
The Functional Group expression (expressionOchemEvalFunctionalGroup) counts the number of compounds in a student’s response that belong to the Functional Group you select.
- The Functional Group expression is available for items created with either the solutionOchemSkeletal or solutionOchemMechanism answer type.
- How to add one or more expressions
- How to specify the Grade and Response information
- Use the dropdown menus and text boxes to set or edit the functional group information you want to be evaluated in student responses.
Menu Option | Mathematical Equivalent |
---|---|
Exactly | student number = author number |
More Than | student number > author number |
Fewer Than | student number < author number |
Not Exactly | student number <> author number |
Fewer Than or Equal To | student number <= author number |
More Than or Equal To | student number >= author number |
Double-click in the Functional group ID selector box. In the pop-up that opens, select a category, functional group, and click Export Selection. See the next section for more information about choosing functional groups.
This table lists some common functional groups and the functional group category where they are found.
