Set your Gradebook view preferences

Scores are computed identically in either case. You can change this setting at any time without affecting scoring data. Students always see their assignment scores as percentages on their Scores page.

This setting also determines the Standard Gradebook Format used if you export Mastering scores to a .csv file.

• If you select Points, the total assigned points for each assignment appears at the top of the Gradebook. This helps you to quickly assess how well students performed relative to the maximum possible point score.
• If you select Percentages,, you see scores expressed as percentages. However, you can still see the points earned compared to points assigned for each item on the student's Assignment Grade page.

The for-credit item completion thermometers show the portion of for-credit items students completed in a standard Mastering assignment. Thermometers help you determine whether a low score may be from either a lack of understanding or not completing enough items.

• To see the number of for-credit items completed: Point to the thermometer.

  

• If two thermometers appear for an assignment: The for-credit thermometer (dark blue-green) is on the left and the for-practice is on the right.
• For-credit thermometers don't appear when there aren't any for-credit items in the assignment nor do they appear for Dynamic Study Module or an Adaptive Follow-Up assignments.

• If two thermometers appear for an assignment: The for-practice thermometer (light blue-green) is on the right and the for-credit is on the left.
• For-practice thermometers don't appear when there aren't any for-practice items in the assignment nor do they appear for Dynamic Study Modules assigned for practice or Adaptive Follow-Up assignments.

Indicates relative values of students' scores, in shades of red:

• According to course distribution, with respect to other scores in the course for the same assignment.
• Using absolute scale, with respect to 100.
• Lighter = Better-than-average scores
• Darker = Worse-than-average scores

Also indicates whether the score contributes to the student's current total score, in shades of gray:

• Light gray = Assignment is not yet due (if you choose to show these assignments by selecting the next option) or has no point value
• Dark gray = Student is exempted from the assignment
  

Places no limits on the display.

(No shows only assignments that are already due.)
