Change the settings as needed. Course Available to Students
This option controls whether or not students can join the course. For example, you may want to block students from joining the course until you have a chance to customize it. Select Yes to allow students to join the course; select No to block them from joining the course. (Note that once students have joined the course you cannot block their access.)
Require Course Password
A password provides an extra level of security. Some instructors use a password to ensure that only their students can register for the class. (Requiring a password is optional.) If you select Yes, enter the Course Password.
Enable Pearson Tutor Services
Select this option to give your students access to Pearson Tutor Services. As subscribers to a Pearson product, your students have complimentary access to Pearson Tutor Services. While
enrolled in an English MyLab account, students can submit papers or essays to the Pearson
Tutor Services paper-review service. Qualified
reviewers comment on the submission and provide a personalized and detailed critique
on how to improve it. Students' initial submissions are free of charge. When you select this option, students can access the service from the Writer's Toolkit in the composing space.
Enable NoodleBib Bibliography Creator
Select this option to make NoodleBib available to your students. NoodleBib is an online teaching tool that aids students with identifying source material and creating a bibliography that is APA, CMS, and MLA compliant. NoodleBib provides help for individual citation questions, guides the student through the process of learning, and facilitates the creation of bibliographies. When you enable this option, students access the service from the Writer's Toolkit in the composing space.
Enable SourceCheck Originality Checker
With SourceCheck you can check the originality of content in an assignment document. You can also allow your students access to this feature so they can check their assignment—and personal—documents. Use the drop-down list to enable this option for yourself only or both you and your students, or to disable SourceCheck. When you enable this option for your students, they access it from the Writer's Toolkit in the composing space.
Enable WriteClick
Select this option to allow your students to download and install WriteClick. WriteClick is an automated tool that analyzes a student's writing and provides corrections, suggestions, and explanations all aimed at helping the student improve her or his writing skills. WriteClick runs on a system-wide basis and can review text in most applications and courses. For more information, see WriteClick.
Note: Although you can disable the option to allow students access to WriteClick, any students who have already downloaded and installed WriteClick will continue to have access to it.
